Working Relationships

There is immense value in collaboration and the importance of communication on every level. Focusing on key areas is difficult, but it’s a great way to deal with budget. The value and gratification of a well designed hot not only improves your home, it also make it function more seamlessly.

collaborative thinking should be encouraged to create inspiring spaces.

Essentially we need to know how you live, work, play, rest, so we can design a space to enhance the way you do those things.

To draw out the best design, Kevin encourages a hands-on approach that is consultative, positive and centred around the client. Working together through design workshops and continual conversations to create something honest and unique. Ideas must be put to the test. Otherwise, they would be no more than ideas. There is often a considerable difference between an idea and its realisation.

The Practice

Kevin Mackenzie Architecture & Design is an RIAS Chartered Architectural Practice base in East Lothian, specialising in residential architecture. With a portfolio that extends to extensions, refurbishments and new builds.

Kevin started the practice in response to changing demands of his family life and to establish a better work life balance. He also wanted to distance himself from the systemic problems within the new build housing industry.
